Office Connection: Bridge the Gap
Let’s foster collaboration and understanding by learning more about the roles and responsibilities of other departments.
Step 1: Reach Out
Identify a department you’d like to learn more about. This could be one you interact with regularly or one you’d like to better understand.
Step 2: Schedule a Window
As a team, set up a 5-minute meeting with a member of that department at a mutually convenient time. Let them know you’re interested in learning about their team’s goals, challenges, or how their work supports the company.
Step 3: Ask Thoughtful Questions
During the meeting, use your time wisely by asking focused questions like:
- What does a typical day look like in your department?
- How does your team measure success?
- What’s one thing you wish others knew about your department?
Step 4: Reflect and Share
After your meeting, reflect on what you learned. How does this new knowledge affect how you view your own role? Feel free to share insights with your manager or the team during the next huddle or meeting.

Professional Development: Working Well with Others
Did you know that most job failures happen not because of a lack of technical skills, but because of difficulty working well with others? According to a recent article, teamwork and collaboration are often the defining factors for long-term success in any workplace.
This highlights how important it is to focus on building strong working relationships, improving communication, and fostering mutual respect across teams. Take a moment to reflect on how you contribute to positive collaboration and where there’s room for growth.
Let’s discuss:
- What’s one thing you think makes collaboration smoother in a team?
- Is there a behavior or mindset you could adjust to improve team dynamics?
Together, we can ensure our workplace thrives not just on individual talent but on how well we work together.

Fun Friday: Weekend Fun Challenge
This weekend, let’s shake things up with a Weekend Fun Challenge! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do one thing outside your usual routine that brings you joy or relaxation. This could be something simple, like trying a new recipe, going for a walk in a new park, taking time to read a book, or starting a creative project you’ve been putting off.
It’s summer! Let’s begin:
- Share your weekend plan with the group before heading into the weekend (if you’d like).
- After the weekend, come back ready to share what you did and how it went—bonus points for photos or fun stories!
