The Monday Mindset
Theme of the Week: Dog Days of Determination 🐶
Now let’s go around and share with the team:
- What was your goal?
- What’s one win (big or small) that you’ve achieved toward that goal?
- Do you want to revise this goal for the remainder of 2025, based on the progress you’ve made?
Good morning, team! The heat of summer can bring its challenges—slower days, distractions, and the temptation to ease up on our efforts. But this is the perfect time to channel the “dogged determination” we’re known for and push through these “dog days” with focus, grit, and drive.
When the heat is on, staying committed to our goals can set us apart. The work we put in during these tough moments is what builds the foundation for long-term success, both personally and as a company.

Customer Connection: Customer Loyalty
Let’s take a moment to focus on customer retention and loyalty—key drivers of our long-term success. Acquiring a new customer costs five times more than retaining an existing one. (Forbes) Not only that, loyal customers are more likely to refer others and trust our brand for future needs.
Customer loyalty doesn’t happen overnight; it’s built through consistent effort, care, and follow-through. Whether you interact with customers directly or support behind the scenes, you play a vital role in making sure every experience is positive, seamless, and memorable.
What’s one way you go above and beyond to make a customer feel valued? Share an example of a time when a loyal customer returned and how it made an impact.
It’s not just about meeting expectations—it’s about exceeding them. A small act of kindness, a well-timed follow-up, or an effortless solution can make all the difference in building trust and loyalty.
Let’s challenge ourselves to find one way to strengthen a customer relationship today!
Review Challenge
It’s THAT time again! What time? It’s time to announce the winner of the latest review challenge! Thank you so much for participating in yet another review challenge.
Don’t give up if you didn’t win this time. You could be the winner of the next challenge! Remember, it’s never too late to get started. Invite as many customers as you can to review your store. We will calculate based on the highest rating per review sent! We will be looking for the most reviews received, but you must also win with the highest rated reviews. Just because you are a small store does not mean you cannot win! The winning stores will be featured in our next review challenge.
Team Building Thursday: Team Impact Jar
Today, let’s take a moment to focus on something that might get overlooked at work: the ways we lift each other up. Think of this as our “Team Impact Jar”—a space to recognize and appreciate how each of us contributes to the success of the team. No physical jar needed.
Here’s what we’ll do:
Take turns sharing one way someone on the team has made a positive impact on you or the group recently. It could be something big, like helping you meet a tight deadline, or something small but meaningful, like checking in on how you were doing.
- Example: “I want to thank Henry Hedgehog for jumping in on that escalated customer call last week—it helped smooth things over and made a big difference.”
Let’s keep the positivity rolling and see how far we can go.
Fun Friday: Purpose in Progress
Back in January, many of us set goals during our employee evaluations or even for ourselves personally. Today, let’s take a moment to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come. Take 2-3 minutes to think about one goal you’ve been working on this year—big or small. It could be something personal or professional, like building a new habit, learning something new, or improving in your role.
Now let’s go around and share with the team:
- What was your goal?
- What’s one win (big or small) that you’ve achieved toward that goal?
- Do you want to revise this goal for the remainder of 2025, based on the progress you’ve made?
Growth takes time but taking a moment to recognize progress fuels motivation and focus. Let’s carry that energy with us as we keep working toward our goals. There’s still 6 months left in the year, so keep moving forward—you’ve got this!
