The Monday Mindset
Last week, we talked about being proactive versus reactive. Our ability to proactively choose our response rather than react instinctively is a uniquely human gift.
Stephen Covey talks about four unique human gifts:
- Self-awareness
- Imagination
- Conscience
- Independent will
Using the questions in the worksheet, talk through each of these gifts with your team. How can implementing these four gifts help you at work this week? Be specific.

Professional/Self Development
Since we spend almost 25% of our lives at work, it makes sense to consider how we can make our work experience happier and healthier.
In an article from well-being expert Tchiki Davis, she shares five ways to be happier at work. One of her tips is to make a point to do something you enjoy at least once every day. For example, maybe you can pair your favorite beverage each morning while you plan your day. Or you can walk to your car after work with a friend instead of by yourself. You could chat about something fun before a meeting starts. Block out 10 minutes on your calendar to go for a short walk.
What are some enjoyable things you intentionally do at work each day? How can implementing this tip boost your productivity?
Team Building Thursday: Stay Curious
Curiosity is the foundation of learning and growth. In today’s huddle, let’s challenge ourselves to adopt a mindset of curiosity—not only with our work but also with each other.
- What’s one thing about our industry or processes that you’ve always been curious about but never asked? Challenge yourself to find the answer today- who knows! Maybe someone on your team has the answer.
- Is there a recent challenge or situation where being curious could have led to a better understanding or outcome?
- How can we, as a team, encourage curiosity in our daily work?
For the rest of the day, focus on asking rather than assuming. Whether it’s with a coworker or customer, reframe your thoughts into curious questions to uncover new perspectives!
