Today we are learning about Insurance Vocabulary. This is a great refresher for those of us who work with insurance, and a great place to start for others who don’t work with insurance!
Professional Development: Insurance Fact or Fiction
Understanding insurance is vital to how we serve our customers. Today’s activity will help us clarify facts, dispel misconceptions, and sharpen our skills. Let’s play Fact or Fiction!
How It Works:
- Each person writes down 2–3 statements related to insurance policies, coverage, or products as they relate to company policy and compliance. These statements can be facts or made up.
- The group takes turns reading a statement, and everyone votes whether they believe it’s Fact or Fiction.
- After voting, the presenter reveals the answer and provides a brief explanation. Discuss as a team briefly about the statement to clarify any misconceptions.
Examples to Start:
- Example 1: “Fact or fiction? Medicare covers all CPAP supplies without copays.”
- Example 2: “Fact or fiction? Lift chairs are only covered if certain medical criteria are met.”

The concept of 15% Solutions reminds us that no matter how big a challenge may seem, there is always something within our control. By focusing on what you can do, rather than what feels out of reach, you empower yourself and your team to create positive momentum. It’s about taking initiative in ways that are within your discretion—your 15%.
Even a small shift, like moving a single grain of sand, can lead to meaningful change.
- Take a moment to reflect: What is one thing you can do today, within your current role and authority, to make a difference?
- Going around the group, have each team member share their “15% Solution.”
What can you commit to doing today? Let’s make it our mission to implement these solutions and watch how they ripple out to strengthen our team and company.
