The Monday Mindset
Theme of the Week: How We Show Up
How we show up every day reflects who we are, what we value, and how we represent the company’s mission. Professionalism isn’t just about following company rules—it’s about embodying pride in your work and leaving a lasting impression on those we serve.
This week, reflect on:
- What message do I send through my actions and appearance? Whether it’s how you greet customers, interact with coworkers, or dress for the day, you’re representing not just yourself but the company’s mission.
- How can I elevate experiences for others? Small gestures, like attentiveness and positive energy, can transform an interaction and show that we truly care.
- What does professionalism mean to me? It’s more than meeting expectations—it’s striving to exceed them and making our customers and team feel valued.
As we reflect on how we show up, let’s remember that our professionalism drives trust, loyalty, and the success of our team. Furthermore, A CareerBuilder study found that 86% of employers say professionalism directly impacts career advancement opportunities.

Team Building Thursday: Learning Zones
- Comfort Zone: Where things feel safe and familiar. Minimal growth happens here, but it’s important for rest and reflection.
- Stretch Zone: Where growth happens. This is where you take on challenges that push your abilities just enough to expand your skills without overwhelming yourself.
- Red Zone (Panic Zone): Where the challenge becomes too intense. This can lead to burnout or stress and inhibits learning.
The key to success is balancing these zones—stepping out of comfort to grow while avoiding the red zone. We’re going to identify our zones with a simple exercise. Imagine a set of three concentric circles (Comfort, Stretch, and Red). Take turns reading one statement below, and the team should position themselves by raising your hand to indicate the zone you’d feel in for each.
Fun Icebreakers:
- Riding a rollercoaster.
- Speaking in front of a small group of friends.
- Trying a new food for the first time.
Professional Growth:
- Leading a presentation for a new client.
- Asking a coworker for constructive feedback.
- Learning to use new technology for your role.
Leadership Challenges:
- Navigating conflict resolution.
- Taking charge of a major project.
- Mentoring someone with more experience than you.
How can we support each other in our growth zones? What actions or mindsets can keep us from reaching the red zone?

Fun Friday: Get to Know YOU
Showing up at work includes showing up for the people on our team. In order to show up more intentionally, it helps to get to know our teammates better!
Break Into Pairs: Divide the team into groups of two, either randomly or by choice.
Get to Know Each Other: Each pair will have 3 minutes to ask each other a few “get to know you” questions. These can be work-related or fun! Here are some examples, but feel free to create your own questions:
- What’s a hobby you’re passionate about?
- If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- What’s your favorite memory from working here so far?
- If you had a superpower for a day, what would it be?
Share With the Team: After 3 minutes, come back together as a group. Each person will share their favorite thing they learned about their partner.
