The Monday Mindset
Stephen R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, said, “Our first energies should go to our own character development, which is often invisible to others, like the roots that sustain great trees. As we cultivate the roots, we will begin to see the fruits.”
Do you agree that developing our character is the key to success? In what ways does our character affect our results? Contrast the success of those you know with great character with those who have poor character.

Customer Connection
Today we are going to go over a conversation model from the Fierce Coaching module. While you may not think of yourself as a “coach” for your customers, you absolutely act as their guide when they come into the store.
Take a look at the linked PDF and print a copy for yourself to keep if you’d like. As a team, pair off and role play a conversation you might have with a customer in your role. Remember, give no advice! Questions only! Come back together as a group.
- discuss how following this model could be helpful in your role.
- discuss how it felt to ask questions only.
Real Customer Call
Today, we’ll be listening to a new real customer call! Voices, names, locations, and all sensitive information have been altered in the call. You’ll have a chance to either listen to or read a real customer question and then engage in a discussion with your team.
- We offer the largest selection of wheelchairs and transport chairs. Invite the customer to come in and explore options.
- Suggest lighter transport chairs as a potential alternative.
- Let the customer know we can special order products not in stock.
- Explore other transportation solutions, like a hitch carrier, for easier loading of their current wheelchair.
- Don’t forget to gather the customer’s name and phone number for follow-up in case they find another solution.
- The store was empty, and the call was the only one, so there was ample opportunity to engage with the customer.
Ultimately, our goal is to get customers into the store so they can physically explore and find the best option for their needs.

Team-Building Thursday
One easy way to strengthen your team is to find out what you all have in common. Come up with a list of at least FIVE things you all have in common.
Some talking points to get you started: Who owns a pet? Who watches (show title)? Who has Amazon prime? Who votes in elections? Who has been to Disneyland? Once you have your list of five, submit it to the Hedgehog Herald so we can feature your team’s common facts!

Would You Rather: Work Edition
Let’s shake things up with a lighthearted activity to spark laughter and conversation.
Today, we’re playing Would You Rather: Work Edition—a fun way to connect with your teammates and learn a little more about how we all approach our work lives. Go around the group and have each person answer a question or let them pick their favorite from the list.
Sample Questions:
- Would you rather always have a cluttered desk or an empty desk with no personal items?
- Would you rather reply to emails all day or attend back-to-back meetings?
- Would you rather handle a last-minute project or work on a long-term, slow-moving one?
- Would you rather give a presentation to the entire company or troubleshoot a tough customer issue?
